PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. October 29. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The 14th test launch of a submarine-launched ballistic missile Bulava has proven a success. The warheads of the missile launched from the While Sea hit the targets at the Kura test range in Kamchatka.
A Defense Ministry’s spokesman said the missile was launched at 5:10 a.m Moscow time from the submerged Russian Navy nuclear ballistic missile submarine Dmitry Donskoy.
In all, there have been 14 test launches of the Bulava, seven of which were successful. The previous test launch was made on October 7 and was, too, declared a success.
Borei class submarines carrying Bulava missiles are expected to be an integral part of the Russian nuclear triad until 2040. The submarines will be based at Vilyuchinsk.
