NAKHODKA. October 15. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The Nakhodka-based office of a non-governmental corruption watchdog was raked with gunfire Thursday, October 14, by unidentified men who were allegedly targeting Yuri Boltenko, a well-known public figure in the city, who was in the office at the time.
The gunmen fired at the first floor widows. Several bullet holes were discovered at the scene. Fortunately, Yuri Boltenko was not injured in the assault.
Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and found two bullets from an automatic rifle, which they later sent for expert analysis.
Officials say this is not the first assault on Yuri Boltenko. Earlier this year, two men approached his car parked at a residential block, yanked out the driver and drove away. Also, he had two of his cars burnt. The police could not find the perpetrators.
