The culprits turned out to be the apartment owner’s next door neighbors.
VLADIVOSTOK. October 11. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred Sunday at an apartment building in Vladivostok.
A Primorye police official said it was very easy for the robbers to enter the apartment, since its owner, a 20-year-old woman, left the door unlocked. Threatening the young woman with a knife, the masked intruders demanded jewelery. They grabbed a laptop, jewelery and 5,000 rubles ($170). They walked off with a total of 50,000 rubles’ ($1,700) in cash and jewelery.
As soon as the robbers left the apartment, the shocked woman called the police. Luckily the police were hot on the trail. They managed to apprehend the two culprits, who turned out to be her next door neighbors.
When the police searched the suspects – a 22-year-old and 27-year-old, both of Vladivostok; one of them having a criminal record – they found a bag with the jewelery and black masks. Since their involvement was clear without doubt, they confessed to the offense.
The police have launched a criminal investigation against the robbers. The two men are now facing up to 10 years in prison and a heavy fine.
