Russian and Chinese veterans will pay a tribute to those soldiers who were killed fighting for the liberation of the Far East.
KHABAROVSK. August 2. VOSTOK-MEDIA – A delegation of WWII veterans from Khabarovsk will visit Heilongjiang province to take part in a series of events held as part of the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The Russian delegation includes veterans who fought along with Chinese soldiers in northeast China in 1945 and youth activists, an official said. During the visit, a meeting will be held between Russian and Chinese veterans who liberated China from the Kwantung Army in the summer of 1945.
On August 9 - the day when Soviet Armed Forced commenced combat operations in the Russian Far East in 1945, the Russian and Chinese veterans will lay flowers at the Fuyuan County Fallen Soldier Memorial, Heilongjiang province. They will hold a one-minute silence in memory of those killed while fighting for the liberation of Far East.
