YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK. March 1. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Zoo prepares to stage public feedings of two couples of bears, which have just awakened from hibernation. The public feedings kicks off on March 6, a spokesperson for the zoo said.

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Zoo is inviting the public to watch the spectacular show – public feeding of two brown bears, Mashla and Vanka, and two black bears, Ezha andFilya. The event will be held at 12:00 p.m. every day.

 
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Zoo spokeswomen Larisa Baranchuk said the bears are fed on carrot, cabbage, and barley porridge with humpback salmon. “This winter the both couples have hibernated for quite a while,” Sakhalin-Kurily daily reported. “Mashka and Vanka had entered hibernation in late November, Yezha and Filya – in early November.”
