The Smuggling of Wild Gerfalcons of Kamchatka in the Moscow Region was Terminated

Six gerfalcons of Kamchatka were found in one of the airplanes landed in the airport of Moscow

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKIY. March 16. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The illegal trafficking of wild gerfalcons of Kamchatka was terminated in the Moscow region. They were spotted in the plane that arrived from Kamchatka. All the found birds were taken away and handed to the Center for salvation of wild animals.
This year at the territory of the Russian Federation 49 gerfalcons were kaken away from the smugglers. The damage, financially estimated in RF at 250 thousand rubles for one bird where as the price on the birds at black markets of Gulf States may reach $ 10,000. Russia is the only country from where the gerfalcons get to black markets.
A gerfalcon is the biggest falconine. In the Russian Federation it is listed in the red Book.
