The Submarine “Nerpa” Waiting to Join The Russian Pacific Naval Forces

VLADIVOSTOK. 18 November. VOSTOK-MEDIA. Tragedy on the submarine “Nerpa” drew attention to the situation with the Russian Pacific Navy. It gives the little hope that long-lasting problems will be at last resolved after 20 died tragically in the peace time.
The first action has already been taken. Commander of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, General of the Army, Nikolay Makarov announced that the submarine “Nerpa” will be added to the Russian armoury and will not be sold to India as it has been earlier proposed. The submarine will go through testing as soon as the investigating commission finishes its work. Submariners welcomed such a decision of the Head Officers. The arrival of the strategic rocket vessels “Alexandr Nevskiy” and “Vladimir Monomakh” is not known yet and “Nerpa” is a good vessel to serve at.
The Indian government and “Rosoboroneksport” along with the “Amurskiy Shipbuidling Company” bargained within the range $650-780 million. Now, Russia will have to deal with the finances within or outside the military budget asserted for purchase of military equipment and weapons.
