USA Refused Russian Training in the Japanese Sea

VLADIVOSTOK. 15 August. VOSTOK-MEDIA. USA notifies Russia about their refusal to participate in the international naval training operation in the Japanese Sea “FRUKUS-2008”, says a diplomatic resource in Moscow.
Training operation was to take place in the Japanese Sea on August, 15-23. Its aim was to prepare joint actions in the peacekeeping operations in the sea. 4 countries were to take participation – Russia, France, USA and Great Britain.
Earlier, on Thursday representative of the Pacific Fleet Command said that Commanding officer did not receive any refusal note from USA and Great Britain government. At the same time some Mass Media in the world published information that USA and Great Britain would not participate in the training operation “FRUKUS-2008”.
Meanwhile, the French Naval frigate “Vandemier” called at Vladivostok on August, 15 going to participate in the trainings. Commanding officer of the Pacific Fleet said that French party decided to follow the schedule and participate in the trainings operation “FRUKUS-2008”. “More than that, “Vandemier” and a ship of the Pacific Fleet under request of the French Navy Forces are holding an independent training in the Japanese Sea”, - says a representative of information service.
According to his words, now Navy Forces of two countries are working out joint actions for the sake of civil navigation. Participants are working through mutual actions in the for the sake of civil shipping.
Accoprding to plan sailors of both sides will hold trainings in communicating and joint ship maneuvers, helicopter training and artillery marine target shooting.
During the training operation for protecting regions of active civil navigation ships will have a joint pursuit of “trespassers” along with the aviation. Russian military jets IL-38 and helicopter KA-27 will take partcipation as well.
At the training operation a French jet will have to land on the platform of “Marshall Shaposhnikov”.
