Small Georgia has failed in war against Russia but won propaganda war against Moscow, think British journalists

VLADIVOSTOK.14 August. VOSTOK-MEDIA. Belgian specialists helped Georgia to create an image of an injured party which was attacked during the conflict in South Ossetia. London newspaper The Times says at the beginning of military operation a group of Belgian PR specialists started an artful campaign informing foreign journalists in Tbilisi via Email about Russia launching attacks against Georgia and reaction of Georgian Government. On Sunday, more than 20 Emails were sent to illustrate a Georgian report that Russia was attacking Georgia. Some of the emails were more than just exaggeration saying that Russian jets were bombing aggressively the centre of Tbilisi and that Russian forces occupied Gori. And culture of everyday news agencies led other organizations to repeat news without official examination and, thus, Russian authorities had to defence and were clumsy, says newspaper.
“Governmental TV channels actively covered tragedies of people in South Ossetia saying about atrocity of Georgian forces whitewashing Russia. Their goal was to keep Russian support and they did not care what the rest of the World would say”, - says publication. Small Georgia was more skillful in the war for public opinion than its enemy Russia. Georgian authorities created a media centre so that journalists could get news from a district situated not far away from a front line while Russian army limited communication with South Ossetia and this way journalists could hardly cover Russian operation, assured British publication.
