At the Olympic Games-2008 4 sportsmen from Primorye will represent Russia

VLADIVOSTOK. 8 August. VOSTOK-MEDIA. Today at 8:08:08 (local time) in Beijing at the stadium “Bird’s Nestle” will get a start an opening ceremony of XXIX Olympic Games.
Russia is represented by a team which includes 4 sportsmen from Primorye. These are: badminton player, Stanislav Pukhov, judoist, Tamerlan Tmenov and swimmers – Andrey Kapralov and Olga Detenuyk who being 14 years old gained a right to participate at the Olympic Games.
In the end of 2007 Olga Detenuyk was included in the Governmental preparation program of leading sportsmen for XXIX Olympic Games. In June, at the Russian Swimming Championship Olga won an Olympic license at 200 m distance.
In preparation program 2008 were declared 9 Olympic sportsmen - sailing, track-and-field athletics, weightlifting, judo, swimming, rowing and badminton. Sportsmen from Primorye participated in many world championships and won golden medals.
Since 2005 the Krai budget gave 5 million roubles for sportsmen preparation. Budget financed training process, championship performance, inventory, month stipend for trainers and sportsmen.
Primorye contributed hosting the national boxer team at the last step of preparation before departure to Beijing. In Primorye the sport complex “Olympic” was thoroughly equipped. Training base was reconstructed and if necessary reequipped with modern inventory.
Russian boxers plan to win 3 golden, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. First boxer fighting will start tomorrow, August, 9, in category 75 and 81 kg.
