Festival of the Native Peoples of the Far East, Siberia and North America

KHABAROVSK. August 7. VOSTOK-MEDIA. The 1st Far Eastern Native Handicraft Festival “Lively String of Time” has opened in Khabarovsk in the sports centre “Platinum Arena”.
Masters of handicraft art of the whole Far East and Siberia, representatives of Native Peoples of North America, original creative bands, artists and scientists will gather at the Festival.
Program includes exhibitions and fairs of the handicraft art, national costumes, housing elements, traditions, folklore ensembles, native sports contests and the Nanai traditional wedding ceremony “Giamatalaori”. Meetings, visits, experience sharing, special master-classes, round tables devoted to problems of preserving and development of the native cultures and crafts of the scanty peoples are also in the program.
August, 9, “Platinum Arena” will hold a gala-concert, then a closing awarding ceremony. Festival is sponsored by Khabarovsk Administration and celebrates the 70th anniversary of Khabarovskiy Krai.
