Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Monitoring Service VS Poor Meat

VLADIVOSTOK. 23 July. VOSTOK-MEDIA. Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Monitoring Service (FVPMS) restricted import of meat production from the USA, Australia, Brazil and Argentina in connection with the prohibited and dangerous substances found in meat.
The Service laid temporary import restrictions on several factories from mentioned countries; regarding the American production there are double control measures.
As informed by Vitaliy Salenko, Assistant Administrator of the Press Communications, while the monitoring research which educed dangerous and prohibited substances in poultry meat from the U.S., kangaroo meat from Australia, beef from Brazil and beef pieces from Argentina. Thus, it was decided to put restrictions on import from 4 factories of the mentioned countries since July, 21, 2008. Import of production transported before the date will be approved only after collecting samples and laboratory testing.
Exporting poultry meat on the Russian market from 5 factories in the USA for the next 3 months will be under control of FVPMS. Import will be approved only after a sample testing in case of containing prohibited and dangerous substances, including medicine.
