Fishery Managers ask for increasing fishery limits

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKIY. 25 July. VOSTOK-MEDIA. In Kamchatka Kurilskoe lake, one of the biggest spawning area of the most valuable salmon specie, red salmon, is now overfilled with fish. If necessary measures are not applied, salmon will overstuff the lake and won’t spawn new fish in the future. Fishermen of the Ozernovskiy fishery suggest urgent increasing of the fishery limits on salmon by 7 thousand tones, says “Fishery Association of Kamchatka”.
Sergey Barabanov, President of the Association, says that brigadiers watching nets in the lake can see accumulation of fish. Fish growing period is about 3-5 days and then it goes massively to spawn.
Additional fishery limits would allow an efficient work of shore enterprises and provide the Kamchatskiy Krai’s budget with excessive incomes.
